Matched coating
Same zinc, Zn-Al or PVC coating as the mesh — no weak link in corrosion life.
For binding, assembling and securing gabion mesh units during installation. Lacing wire is the soft, heavily galvanised (or PVC-coated) wire used to stitch gabion panels together, close lids and tie adjacent units into one continuous structure.

Lacing wire is the soft, heavily galvanised (or PVC-coated) wire used to stitch gabion panels together, close lids and tie adjacent units into one continuous structure. Terracare supplies lacing wire matched to the coating of the gabion mesh so the whole structure has the same corrosion life.

Low-carbon wire that bends tightly by hand and holds its lace.
2.2 mm nominal for standard gabions (3.2 mm with PVC), as per IS 16014.
Convenient coil weights for site crews; quantity calculated per gabion order.
Pneumatic C-ring fasteners can be supplied as a faster alternative to hand lacing.
Typical specifications. Wire diameters, mesh type, coating class and unit sizes are confirmed against your project specification and IS 16014:2024 at the time of order. Test certificates are supplied with each despatch.

Talk to Our TeamAs a rule of thumb, lacing wire is about 5–8 % of the weight of the gabion mesh being assembled. Terracare calculates and supplies the exact quantity with each gabion order.
Not recommended. Ordinary binding wire has a much thinner coating and a smaller diameter, so the joints corrode long before the gabion mesh. IS 16014 specifies 2.2 mm heavily galvanised lacing wire.
